This course is designed with the goal to improve second-year students' skills in reading. The primary focus of reading course is to expose them to a wide range of different types of texts and diversify their skills. Emphasis will be placed on improving interpretive skills, fostering critical thinking, and refining academic writing in response to readings. Through close readings,students will develop a deeper understanding of literary and non-literary works, exploring themes, structure, style, and language use. It also helps them learn how the context, tense, literary devices, and domain-specific vocabulary are essential components that influence the comprehension and interpretation of a text and how they play a key role in enhancing reading skills and precision.
