Algebra 2 is a Licence 1 mathematics course that introduces the fundamental concepts and techniques of linear algebra. The course develops students’ understanding of vector spaces, linear maps, matrices, determinants, and systems of linear equations.
Throughout the course, students will learn to:
- Understand and work with vector spaces, subspaces, bases, and dimension.
- Study linear maps through their kernel, image, and rank.
- Perform matrix operations and work with determinants and inverse matrices.
- Represent linear maps using matrices and understand change of basis.
- Solve linear systems using Gauss and Cramer methods.
- Analyze systems using the Rouché–Frobenius theorem.
The course combines theoretical concepts with progressive exercises and practical problem-solving activities to develop both mathematical reasoning and computational skills.
