Course Description

Computer Security is a fundamental field of computing that focuses on protecting information, computer systems, networks, and users from threats, attacks, and unauthorized access. This course introduces the core principles of computer security, including confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation. Students will explore major security threats and vulnerabilities and learn how different security mechanisms can be used to prevent, detect, and respond to attacks.

The course also introduces cryptography as a fundamental tool for information protection, covering both classical and modern encryption techniques. Through practical examples, problem-solving activities, and hands-on exercises, students will apply security concepts to real-world situations and develop the knowledge and skills needed to understand and protect information systems.
